Backgammon is one of the most popular games in the world which was designed by Büzür Merih, Chief Vizier of Persian Emperor about 1.400 years ago. The backgammon was designed with the inspiration taken from the conception of time, and such resistance of it to time is highly impressive. Board is one as the unity of the year.
The two corresponding sets of 6 points represent 12 months. Moreover, 15 light-color and 15 dark-color checkers symbolize 15 days and 15 nights of the month. The two corresponding sets of 12 points on two tables represent 24 hours of a day.
In old times, the Indian Emperor sent the chess game as a gift to the Persian Emperor with a letter. No explanations but the following message was sent with the game
To the Persian Emperor:
One who thinks more,
knows better,
and sees farther
will win.
That is life... |
The Persian Emperor shared this message with Büzür Merih, foremost thinker of the era and asked him to solve the game and invent another game as a gift for the Indian Emperor in return. The vizier worked for weeks to solve the movements of each piece of the chess and its strategy. Then in the following 10 days, he invented the "Backgammon" and present it to the emperor. Including a message to Indian Emperor with the backgammon set:
To the Indian Emperor:
Yes, one who thinks more,
knows better,
and sees farther
will win.
BUT IT'S A LITTLE CHANCE TOO.
That is life...
